Celebration

When I think of the word celebration at this time of year, I think about Christmas. I think about what Christmas  really means for me as a person of Catholic faith. I love the celebration of the Catholic mass. I may not agree with all that the Catholic faith  offers, but I do know I have a deep faith and love of God/Jesus. I have a relationship with my God and that is what really counts.

In my family, we celebrate Christmas eve. We have exchanged presents on Christmas Eve since I was a child. We used to go to midnight mass until they nixed it since it was rough on the kids. Tradition is big in our family. Christmas eve has now been at my home for four years.  I love having everyone at our home.  My kids are giddy with excitement and pride as they host the family Christmas Eve. My twin sister and I love to decorate, cook and act as hostesses.

I look forward in anticipation to the Christmas holiday and spending it with family.

  1. My family also has always passed out gifts on Christmas Eve. I read someplace that that's a German tradition. It would make some sense, since it came from my father's side of the family. We always have cold cuts and finger food so we can get to the gifts more quickly.
