I must say that with age comes wisdom. The older I get, the less I feel I need. I have no longings like I did when I was young. I really feel like I have been blessed abundantly. I am not saying I have a lot according to the worlds' standards, but I have all that I need.
I have:
God
My two wonderful children
My Twinner
Family
My experiences in life (Good or bad)
My two doggies
Peace of mind
Contentment
Masters in Counseling Psychology
Lots of friends
Health
A fire pit
Writing
Nature
Photography
Cooking
Food on the table
Gift of gab (Speaker/Trainer)
Singer.....
Life is wondrous I treasure it so;
Those around me help me to grow;
I have no longing I yearn for now
I've received so much, not sure how;
I really have everything I need
Trust, love and pay God heed
Life is what you make it to be
Love is at the center,
No more longing and you'll be free

ReplyDeleteThanks so much for coming over to my stoop.
Love that you posted Alison Kraus. Not only is she a great singer/musician backed by a great band, but she grew up in the area where Hubby and I raised our kids (and is about their age) and started out performing there and in the town where we now live. I have kind of a soft spot for her.
ReplyDeleteAngela,
ReplyDeleteI love that your a fan of Alison Kraus. That is so neat she grew up in the town you raised your kids. Not many know of her. I love her voice.

I love that 'fire pit' is listed. Cuz on nights when the Fall air sets in, curling up with a mug of someting hot next to the fire pit is just perfection all in itself. :) Great post!!
ReplyDeleteAh yes, beautiful post. And that poem you wrote is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYou mirror my feelings on this topic. I feel blessed and I am grateful.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I love Alison Kraus, too. :O)
Laura--this was a wonderful write!! Like you--in many ways--I feel completely blessed that I don't find myself longing for much. I'm not saying life is perfect--just I am content with what I have.
ReplyDeleteLovely poem too!
Cheers, Jenn
